Carrizo Plain & Spots Nearby

Carrizo Plain is known for its wildflower displays in a good year, as well as for the fact that the San Andreas Fault runs through it on the way toward San Francisco. Just north east along Shell Creek Road are frequently magnificent wildflower displays. Further south and west off Highway 166 is Cottonwood Canyon, also aglow with wildflowers in the right year.
