Kern River Area

Running from the Sierra Nevada mountains (beginning below Mt. Whitney and Sequoia National Park) to the Central Valley, the Kern River's canyons and valleys offer hiking, rafting, fishing, and farming, with most water being diverted for agriculture. A favorite area has abandoned barns, looking different each time we pass, depending upon weather and time of day, but always intriguing.
