Around Mt. Shasta
Mt. Shasta is a beautiful dormant volcano, which last erupted in 1786. At nearly 14,200 ft., Mt. Shasta is the second highest peak in the Cascade range and the fifth highest in California. Actually the mountain is composed of 4 overlapping cones, but the most prominent and visible is Shastina, sitting high on the flanks of Shasta. Mt. Shasta rises 10,000 feet above the high valley below and is visible from most viewpoints. This gallery has views from every side except from directly east.
