Reflections
My favorite reflections don't just mirror something, they alter my perception of it. In addition, they don't rely on the original for their strength and essence. The first three shown are my humorous favorites, taken from a house boat. "Far Out Man!" reflects the houseboat seen through choppy marina waters. In "Fox Blows Bubbles", the "fox" (a reflection of sandstone cliffs) truly is in the slide; I just rotated him to the top. For "Homage to Edvard Munch," I had to severely darken the watery background to get the fine tracery of lines from the wave crests to show up. When they did, I saw the "screaming figure," thus the reference to Munch and his famous painting, "The Scream." The others have their own stories too, but it is enough to appreciate them for their complexity and "view point."
